Who we are
This website is run by AskMama. We decide how the information you give us is used, which makes us the data controller. Questions about your data go to joss@askmama.co.uk.
What we collect
Only what you type into the booking form: your name, business name, trade, mobile number, email address if you give it, and the best time to ring you. If you call, text, email or WhatsApp us, we keep that conversation.
What we use it for
To arrange and hold the call you asked for, to follow up about it, and, if you become a customer, to provide our service. We do not sell your details or pass them to anyone to market to you.
Our lawful basis is that you asked us to contact you (steps before entering a contract) and our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of suppliers to run the site and our business: Vercel (website hosting), Google Workspace (email and the booking calendar), Formspree (delivers form enquiries to our inbox), GoHighLevel (our customer system, which stores enquiries and call notes) and ElevenLabs (runs the Mama chat and voice assistant). Some of these suppliers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
If you don't become a customer, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. Customer records are kept for as long as we work together and then for as long as the law requires for tax and accounts.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email joss@askmama.co.uk and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This site does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. The fonts are served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't send your details to anyone else.
While you fill in the booking form, your details are kept in your browser for that visit only, so you don't have to type them twice. They are cleared when you close the tab.
The voice assistant
If you tap "Ask Mama", your browser asks to use your microphone. What you say and what Mama says is processed by our voice provider, ElevenLabs, to run the conversation. We may keep the transcript to follow up on your enquiry and to improve the assistant. Nothing is recorded until you start a conversation, and you can end it at any time.
If we ever add analytics, we'll ask for your permission first and update this page.
